Happy Year of the Ox !

Every year, over a billion people all over the world celebrate in high spirits the promise of Spring. Chinese New Year started on the 26th of January with spectacular dragon dances and parties that continue for a fortnight. The year 2009 is in the sign of the Ox, second animal in the Chinese zodiacal cycle. The ox symbolizes devotion, hard work, principles, gentleness, patience and eccentricity. Oh, and a bit of stubbornness as well, we’re afraid…
This year, the Ox combines with the element Earth, which stands for the middle and controlling forces. Further, 2009 is a Yin-year. Ox-Yin-Earth is characterized by slow but thorough change, in respect of values and traditions, with an eye on durability and authenticity.
