With a range of special programs and events, the organization Flanders District of Creativity tries to raise awareness of creative entrepreneurship and to close the gap between the business community and the educational world. The so-called Fellows of Flanders Dc are a group of active, inspired and inspiring entrepreneurs who understand how to trigger enthusiasm with others. Youngsters, for instance, who can ask business men hundreds of questions during an ‘Entrepreneur in front of the class’ session.
On Tuesday January 31st , Gerard van Os was invited as a Fellow for a session with the final year students of Marketing & Management at Visitatie High School, near Ghent to discuss the themes of doing business with a creative zest and the importance of sparkling communication. The pupils seemed to appreciate the exchange; most of them didn’t even bother the school bell ringing to announce the end of the session.

DREAMday: a taste of (company) life
On Thursday, March 19th, students of the sixth year of economics at the Royal Atheneum Ninove visited Van Os-Sonnevelt in the context of the DREAMday project.

What do you want to become when you grow up? More and more young people have a hard time to find a clear and confident answer to that question. To give them a helping hand, Dream-it organizes with the support of the Flemish, Brussels and Walloon government since 1998 the DREAMday project. During one day, thousands of youths from the fifth and sixth years of secondary education can get a taste of real (company) life.
On Thursday the 19th of March, the pupils of the sixth year of economics at the Royal Atheneum Ninove were visiting Van Os-Sonnevelt. Manager Gerard van Os gave them a brief presentation on creative entrepreneurship and then guided them through all stages of production. After the tour, the young people fired away dozens of questions about the full range of jobs at Van Os-Sonnevelt, about entrepreneurship and…about the Flying Cow they had seen during the tour of the premises.
