Silence! Studax at work…

Not understanding each other often leads to mistakes and can even become a major safety risk. That is the reason why the Flemish employment service VDAB developed the language course ‘Dutch on the work floor’. The aim of this course is to give non-Dutch speakers in a predominantly Dutch-speaking environment enough understanding of the language to operate effectively and safely.

Since a few weeks, our colleague Diaro, who is originally from Congo, tries to master the language of Vondel. Not with the purpose of writing poems like Vondel did, but to communicate with his colleagues more effectively. Most of the lessons take place on the work floor, surrounded by fellow-workers and furniture. But when the first sunny day of spring allows it, the company garden is by far the best place for courses.
